Overview

What we cover.

A brand that isn't registered in the UAE is a brand that isn't protected here — third parties can register similar marks first, and enforcement without registration is far harder. PNPC Global manages the full trademark lifecycle with the UAE Ministry of Economy, from clearance search through registration, renewal and portfolio management, so your brand identity stays defensible as you grow.

Why PNPC Global

UAE trademark registration is territorial and administered through the Ministry of Economy, separate from registrations you may hold in India, the GCC or elsewhere — protection abroad does not automatically extend here. With the UAE's position as a regional trading and re-export hub, unregistered marks are also more exposed to bad-faith filings by third parties looking to capitalise on an unprotected brand entering the market.

Common questions

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) — your questions, answered.

How long does UAE trademark registration take?
Typically the process runs several months from filing to certificate issuance, accounting for examination, publication and the statutory objection period, assuming no oppositions are filed.
Is my Indian or international trademark automatically protected in the UAE?
No. UAE trademark protection is territorial — you need a separate UAE filing even if you hold registrations elsewhere. We recommend filing early, ideally before or alongside market entry.
How long does a UAE trademark registration last, and how do I renew it?
UAE trademark registrations are valid for a set renewal cycle from the registration date and must be renewed before expiry to avoid lapsing — we track renewal deadlines across your portfolio so nothing is missed.
What happens if someone else has already registered a similar mark?
A clearance search before filing identifies existing conflicting marks so we can advise on alternatives, opposition strategy, or negotiated coexistence before you invest in a brand that may face challenges.
